CLUB NEWS

7th Annual "Tuey" Lawnmower Poker Run- We will be having our 7th annual "Tuey" Lawnmower Poker Run on Saturday, September 11th. A sign up sheet is posted in the social room. The cost is $10 which will go to charity. Hamburgers and hot dogs will be provided by the club, please bring a covered dish if you would like. We will leave the club at 1pm, please be here by Noon if you are riding a lawnmower, golf cart or 4-wheeler. There will be a wagon and other vehicles available for riders. This great event is in honor of Ron "Tuey" Puckett, who is greatly missed by our club.

Dues- Just a reminder that if you have not paid your dues, you have been dropped from membership and will soon be taken off the newsletter mailing list. If you wish to re-enroll, there is a re-enrollment fee in addition to your dues payment. Please ask your bartender to re-enroll.

Dance Club- A dance club will be having a live country band/dance in our reception hall on the 2nd and 4th Monday of every month from 6:30 to 9:30pm. There is a $7 cover charge and the kitchen will be open. Dates for September are the 13th and 27th.

Karaoke is Back!- Friday Night Karaoke has returned with Jim Merrifield providing the music every other Friday night. September dates are the 3rd and 17th.

Bar Stool Open- The 5th annual WOTM Jim Downs Memorial Bar Stool Open will be held on Saturday, October 2nd. There will be 12 clubs participating this year. The entry fee is $100 per team of 4 players. Signup sheets will be posted in the social room soon.

Solar Power- Our club is considering supplementing our power supply with solar power. Discussions are underway with Straight Up Solar to weigh the benefits of this project. Watch for more information in future newsletters.

Bingo- Sunday night bingo and the bingo kitchen are always looking for volunteers! If you can help out even one Sunday a month it will be greatly appreciated.

Dues Drawing Winners- Congratulations to this year's dues drawing winners! For the Auxiliary, the winners are Kim Collins and Ronnie McQueen; and for the Aerie the winners are Dale Batton and John West

Sick and Ailing/Sympathy Cards- If you know of someone who needs a card expressing sympathy, get well, thinking of you, or just an encouraging word, please contact Gloria Girrulat and she will see that they get one. You can call or text her at 217-825-1961. Thank you.
